Excited for: Disney’s Christopher Robin

I was browsing Facebook for anything interested when I saw a trailer for the upcoming movie, Christopher Robin. Seeing the video thumbnail, I could not help but play the video because I loved Winnie the Pooh growing up (I also happen to love stuffed animal toys).

I was thrilled to find out that Ewan McGregor plays Christopher Robin as an adult. I loved McGregor in Star Wars and in Moulin Rouge and Beauty and the Beast where he had singing roles (his voice was awesome!). I am so excited to see what he can bring to Christopher Robin’s character and how he can make the character stand out.

Aww… This scene touched my heart so much I wanted to cry! Photo taken from https://twitter.com/WaltDisneyCo/status/971093101979713538

I believe in Disney to do its best to keep this film close to the story we grew up loving despite the human character being grown up already. After seeing the trailer, I was relieved that it did not look like it was going to be similar to the recent Peter Rabbit film.

I also loved Peter Rabbit stories growing up but was so disappointed with how the film trailer showed what it was going to look like. It was too modern and not too child-friendly in my opinion.

Disney’s Christopher Robin is scheduled to be released on August 3, 2018. I loved how it’s not going to be shown during the Christmas season. In the Philippines, the two weeks beginning December 25 is blocked for local movies to be shown in the cinemas as part of the Metro Manila Film Festival. All foreign movies released worldwide during this period will have to wait until after the second week of January before they can be enjoyed in the Philippine cinemas.

Are you excited about this movie too? Did you love Winnie the Pooh and his friends while growing up?
